Here are 4 Laws of Power lessons for the week.As I’ve said before, this is my FAVORITE book and one which I recommend to everyone.To win the battle one must carefully employ strategy….Law 8: Make Other People Come to YouIt is always wise to make your opponent come to you, and have them abandon their own plans in the process.Fight the battle on your turf.When you force the other person to act, you are the one in control.Lure them into your territory with a potential victory, then attack.Law 31: Control the OptionsGet others to play with the cards you deal.Rig the game.Change the playing field in your favor.Your opponents will get a false sense of control, but you will come out on top regardless of which option they choose.Law 4: AlwaysSay Less Than NecessaryPersons who cannot control his words shows that he cannot control himself, and is unworthy of respect.But the human tongue is a beast that few can master.It strains constantly to break out of its cage, and if it is not tamed, it will run wild and cause you grief.Law 5: So Much Depends onReputation. Guard it with Your Life.Once you have a solid base of respect,ridiculing your opponent both puts him on the defensive and draws more attention to you, enhancing your own reputation.Happy MONDAY!!!

I just follow the money…⁣⁣For those thirsty for more insights we are now bringing you:⁣⁣Finance Bro Fridays 😂⁣⁣Last week we posted on two topics:⁣⁣ — Looming debt maturities in Cannabis⁣⁣— GTI’s letter to Sam (and what I would have done differently)⁣⁣This week Bengal Capital published their Q3 newsletter and Gerald Derevyanny provides a MASTERCLASS in debt capital market analytics.⁣⁣Sanjay Tolia and his team at Bengal are some of the smartest investors in cannabis.⁣⁣Their takeaways:⁣⁣— Who is going to win cannabis? Green Thumb Industries (GTI)⁣⁣— Why? Look at their cost of capital⁣⁣— What’s coming? More players like this…⁣⁣— What should you do? Buy stock in GTI and stop complaining (just thank me when your kid's 529 plan doubles by 2029)⁣⁣And on the subject of the GTI x The Boston Beer Company merger…⁣⁣So GTI sent a letter expressing interest in a merger between the two companies.⁣⁣Interestingly, GTI’s stock rallied 6% for the week, while Boston Beer fell 9%.⁣⁣The market is correctly reading that many impediments will likely keep the deal from happening.⁣⁣Boston Beer would have to create a Canopy U.S. type of structure to hold GTI until federal legalization so as not to jeopardize its senior listing.⁣⁣Boston Beer undoubtedly sees the writing on the wall – declining alcohol sales - but would probably prefer a more straightforward deal.⁣⁣BUT…⁣⁣Deals like this are CLEARLY coming.⁣⁣This one’s just a bit premature.

Which east coast native MSO is quietly making BIG waves in the good markets?Nova Farms.For the past 5 years, they've been on a TEAR:→ $64M in 2023 sales→ Profitable in exciting and TOUGH markets→ 30+ products with industry awards out the wazooNova is setting a fine example for upstart, private MSOs.They have prioritized low cost, high quality outdoor grown flower.While the rest of the industry zigged on fancy indoor grows, Nova zagged.The result is ridiculously low production costs.They're cranking out gas for $100 a pound.You read that right.And they have done this in opportune and complimentary states using a "Hub & Spoke" model.Big heavy hitting states like MA and NJ are the hubs. Smaller border states of RI, ME and CT are the spokes.This helps them garner major exposure across the northeast region.They have cemented this influence via their popular product brands.Brands like Southie Adams and Sticky Fish are staples across the region.And they fly off the shelves in their own stores too, all of which have a stellar reputation.And they have revenue per sq ft that would make Apple blush.Mark my words:These guys are SERIOUS East Coast players.The team, led by CEO Derek Ross, is HUNGRY.→ They've got $100M in their sights for 2024→ And with a 58% CAGR, $250M won't be far behindSo, who will be the MSO that ponies up and buys Nova?Or are THEY going to be the buyer in the near future?—What do you think?Is Nova destined to be the King of the East Coast?

Nothing pisses me off more than ambulance chasing lawyers.When they manipulate people with kids and drugs it's even worse…Last week a 15 year old (!) filed a lawsuit claiming STIIIZY has triggered a public health crisis among teensby “marketing dangerous, high potencymarijuana vaporizers” to youth.The lawsuit, filed in Marin County Superior Court, claims Stiiizy’s marketing is: Deliberately “aimed at inducing teenagers and young adults to use its product.”Are we in 1933? Are we back to the Devil's Lettuce? Is this going to allow every class action legal team in the US to fire up litigation against us??I posted some of my thoughts on Stiiizy a few weeks back.I gave them props for what they have achieved as a brand and that struck a nerve or two.Hopefully this isn't so controversial.This lawsuit is obviously frivolous. It hurts Stiizy, and it hurts EVERYONE in the cannabis industry.For once, can we ALL AGREE that this is wrong and represents a potential attack on all of us??Let me know what you think in the comments.Repost this one for solidarity ♻️
